Great demonstration on the 27th of june in Calais! / Grande manifestation à Calais le 27 juin !

Le camp No Border de Calais est un projet mené par des militantEs françaisEs et belges, et des groupes de soutien français en coopération
avec le réseau No Borders britannique. Il vise à mettre en lumière la situation à Calais et dans le nord de la France, construire des liens
avec les communautés de migrantEs, contribuer à développer les liens entre les groupes qui les soutiennent, et enfin défier les autorités sur le
terrain pour protester contre la répression croissante contre les migrantEs et les militantEs de la région. Le camp aura lieu dans le parc de la rue Normandie-Niemen dans l'est de Calais.

Le camp revendique la liberté de circulation pour tous et toutes, la fin des frontières et des contrôles migratoires. Nous appelons à un
mouvement radical contre les systèmes de contrôle qui nous divisent entre citoyenNEs et non-citoyenNes, entre avec et sans papiers.

Nous nous situons dans la 'tradition' des camps No Border organisés dans le monde entier depuis une quinzaine d'années, à Strasbourg en 2002, en Angleterre en 2007, à la frontière américano-mexicaine ou en Ukraine en 2007, et nous sommes en lien avec le camp No Border de Lesbos d'août 2009... ChacunE est conviéE à se joindre au camp pour discuter et débattre de la question des frontières et de la liberté de circulation et d'installation, à imaginer et participer à des actions symboliques, vivre collectivement avec les migrantEs du Calaisis et les militantEs et participer à la grande manif du samedi 27 juin !

The Calais No Border camp is a joint venture between French and Belgian activists and migrant support groups and the UK No Borders Network. It aims to highlight the realities of the situation in Calais and Northern France; to build links with the migrant communities; to help build links between migrants support groups ; and lastly, but not least, to challenge the authorities on the ground, to protest against increased repression of migrants and local activists alike.

This camp calls for the freedom of movement for all, an end to borders and to all migration controls. We call for a radical movement against the systems of control, dividing us into citizens and non-citizens, into the documented and the undocumented.

 We are included in the No Border Camps' 'tradition', set up in the whole world since 15 years - Strasbourg 2002, Gatwick 2007, at the US-Mexican border or in Ukraine in 2007 and we are linked to the August '09 No Border Camp in Lesvos ... Everyone is invited to join the camp to discuss about the borders and freedom of movement issues, to imagine and take part into symbolical actions, to live together collectively with the migrants of Calais and the activists and to demonstrate on the 27th of June !

No Borders Communiqué de presse 26.06.2009

100 membres du No Borders Camp ont organisé une manifestation le 26 Juin 2009 sur la route menant au port de Calais, avec la banderole “Le libre échange tue, liberté de mouvement pour tous”. Cette action symbolique a arrêté le transport de marchandises, et voulait souligner la disparité entre le libre mouvement des marchandises et les restrictions de mouvements des migrants. Les activistes n'ont pas ammené leur cartes d'identités avec eux, un geste de solidarité avec la situation des sans-papiers à Calais.

Les accords de Schengen dans l'Union Européenne autorise le libre échange des marchandises, mais pas des humains.

Paul, 26 ans, explique que “les migrants ne pourraient pas faire cette action à cause leur situation de précarité, and les conséquences qu'ils subiraient”.

Pour Chloé, 33 ans, “les migrants vivent dans une situation de misère, sans accès au logement, soins, et à la sanitation: ils ne sont pas guaranties leur droits humains vitaux”.

No Borders Press Release 26.06.2009

On 26.06.2009, 100 No Borders activists held a demonstration on the motorway to the Calais port, with the banner “Free trade kills, free movement for all”. This symbolic action stopped goods crossing the border and aimed to highlight the disparity between the free movement of goods on the one hand and borders restrictions on the free movement of people on the other. The activists did not take their identity papers with them in solidarity with the 'sans-papiers' in Calais and their lack of legal status.

Schengen agreements in the European area allow the 'free trade' of goods, but not of people.

Paul, 26, said “migrants would not be able to take this action because of the precariousness of their situation, and the harsh repression that they would face”.

Chloé, 33, said “migrants live in a state of destitution, without access to shelter, medical care, sanitation: their basic human rights”.

The No Borders camp, held in Calais between 23rd and 29th June 2009, for freedom of movement for all and an end to borders and to all migration controls. The camp is currently (2009 06 26 - 15:15 -> 16:00) partially blocked by the police standing on the access roads for an unknown reason, appart from their keen on provocation. It is not possible to get out of the camp. It is said to be an prefect decision for the afternoon (end unknown) which would not be taken again tomorrow.

Le camp est actuellement (2009 06 26 - 15:15 -> 16:00) partiellement bloqué par la police qui est sur les routes d'accès pour une raison inconnue, en dehors de leur attirance pour la provocation. Ce n'est pas possible de sortir du camp. Il s'agirait d'un arrêté préfectoral pour l'après-midi (fin inconnue) qui ne serait pas renouvellé demain.

Le contenu est largement repris du travail fait à Strasbourg pour tenter de limiter la furie sécuritaire.
