COMMUNIQUÉ NO BORDER DU 28 JUIN 2009
Après la psychose créée de toutes pièces par les autorités et les médias à l'approche du camp No Border, le dispositif sécuritaire déployé cette semaine a été proprement hallucinant. Omniprésence policière dans une ville pourtant peu épargnée, contrôles d'identité, arrestations pour diffusion de tracts, poursuites, survol quasi permanent du camp par un hélicoptère...

100 membres du No Borders Camp ont organisé une manifestation le 26 Juin 2009 sur la route menant au port de Calais, avec la banderole “Le libre échange tue, liberté de mouvement pour tous”. Cette action symbolique a arrêté le transport de marchandises, et voulait souligner la disparité entre le libre mouvement des marchandises et les restrictions de mouvements des migrants. Les activistes n'ont pas ammené leur cartes d'identités avec eux, un geste de solidarité avec la situation des sans-papiers à Calais.

Face à l’ordre « UMP », nous manifesterons à Calais pour les droits des migrants, les droits des chômeurs et salariés et la défense des libertés publiques le 27 juin.
Depuis le lundi 22 les organisations appelantes à la manifestation à Calais du 27 juin ont tenté de négocier un parcours déposé par les représentants des syndicats. Le 22 juin un parcours a été déposé, négocié et finalement refusé. Le 24 juin un nouveau parcours a été déposé. Les pouvoirs publics ont décrété l’interdiction de passer par la digue de Mer et ont décidé unilatéralement d’un parcours alternatif qui nous a été transmis à 12 h 50 ce jeudi 25 juin.

Un rideau de fer ridicule a été abaissé sur Calais, et la vaste campagne de diabolisation de notre camp par les autorités locales se poursuit dans la presse.
Nous dénonçons avec la plus grande fermeté les tentatives de nous criminaliser et d’intimider la population locale pour la faire taire sur une question qui la touche directement. Nous dénonçons et appelons à l’arrêt de la violence extrême et de l'intimidation à l'encontre des migrants par la police, comme l'expulsion et les coups contre des Érythréens qui vivaient dans un immeuble squatté du centre de Calais lundi soir, ainsi que les destructions des abris de migrants dans la région de Calais au cours des derniers jours.

On 26.06.2009, 100 No Borders activists held a demonstration on the motorway to the Calais port, with the banner “Free trade kills, free movement for all”. This symbolic action stopped goods crossing the border and aimed to highlight the disparity between the free movement of goods on the one hand and borders restrictions on the free movement of people on the other. The activists did not take their identity papers with them in solidarity with the 'sans-papiers' in Calais and their lack of legal status.
24th June 2009: No Border Camp Opens Peacefully Despite Media Hype and Huge Police Presence. (UK press release)
Four hundred activists from around Europe have arrived at the No Border Camp taking place on the outskirts of Calais and have welcomed local residents and migrants alike to join them in an relaxed atmosphere to attend workshops, share experiences and construct the camp which will remain until this Sunday.

20th June 2009: Repression of Migrants Continues as Calais No Border Camp Builds Support. (UK press release)
The No Borders network, which is currently preparing for the start of a No Border Camp in Calais next week, strongly condemns the destruction of migrant camps at Teteghem and Loon beaches in the region around Calais and Dunkirk[1]. The camps were razed to ground by bulldozers on the 17th June leaving around 100 people without shelter. The few possessions that the mostly young people had, such as Korans and a small amount of money, were thrown into the rubbish along with tarpaulins and pallets.

Week long camp to highlight humanitarian crisis in Calais calls for Freedom of Movement for All
People from around the UK will join people from France, Belgium and The Netherlands at a No Border camp [1] next week in Calais from the 23rd - 29th June 2009. They are calling for Freedom of Movement and Freedom to Stay for All. The Camp is a joint initiative of groups and individuals from across Northern Europe, including groups from the UK No Borders network [2] who wish to highlight the ongoing humanitarian crisis [3] facing the hundreds of refugees waiting to cross the Channel. The Camp aims to make the repression faced by migrants and activists in the region more visible and to oppose the migration controls between the UK and France as one example of the brutality of 'Fortress Europe'
